While having a very busy schedule, Halls and his family always try to find some time to visit his home country of Canada. Another recent project he worked on in 2021 is “House of Gucci”, produced by Ridley Scott. Simon’s most recent projects include working for Ryan Murphy’s movie “The Prom”, which features the likes of Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden. The company has currently turned into one of the household names of American Public Relations, managing actors and producers such as Sam Mendes and Ridley Scott, who have amassed a total of 500+ Emmy Awards and 54 Academy Awards. The company boasted of a massive $15 million yearly revenue, managing promotional campaigns for some of the biggest movies of the time, including “Gladiator”, “American Beauty”, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “Brokeback Mountain”.Īt the turn of the decade, Simon Halls got his next big break, when he created Slate PR. In 2001 the firm merged with the larger public relations company, PMK, where he worked for a further nine years, from 2007 as co-CEO of the firm. During this time he managed public outings and communications campaigns for the likes of world-class producers and actors such as the Coen Brothers and Jude Law. After gaining further experience by working with actors and understanding the underbelly of the Hollywood arena, Simon partnered with other Public Relations experts operating in the entertainment industry, to found Huvane Baum Halls, a company in which he served as CEO until 2001. To do this, he founded his first company: BWR PR. According to Halls: ‘If you live in LA, it’s a one industry town, so if you want to succeed on a broad level, it seems like the best way to do that is to be part of the entertainment industry.’ He saw clearly that the best way to do this was to establish himself in Hollywood and represent people in the “big screen” business. A bright careerĪfter returning to the US in the early 1990s, Simon decided to channel his gained public relations experience into the entertainment business. During this early period of his career, he gained further experience by working at several Russian-based PR firms simultaneously, before returning to the US for his big career splash. His first job took him to Moscow, Russia, where he served as a PR Manager for the newly-established McDonalds franchise in the post-communist country.
